Port Authority of Stafford County Awarded FY25 RAISE Grant for $25,000.000. This project will construct a rail-served transload facility and grain terminal adjacent to Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway’s La Junta subdivision. The new facility will consist of approximately 39,635 feet of track for a rail loop, staging, and storage of rail cars, as well as two approximate one-mile lead tracks. 

The project will allow a modal shift from trucks to rail, reducing the number of trucks on the roads annually by approximately 44,000. The reduction in truck traffic will reduce truck related crashes, which have been prevalent on US 50 in Stafford County.
