Kansas Infrastructure Hub Newsletter | October 2025

Post Date:10/30/2025

Message from the Director

During the month of October, our team had the pleasure of attending nine Local Consults, KDOT's public engagement process for the IKE program. This provided our office with a unique opportunity to share the objectives of the Hub as well as learn about specific transportation needs across our great state. We appreciate everyone who took the time to introduce themselves and ask questions about our mission.

All members of our team participated in the Kansas League of Municipalities Annual Conference, held in Kansas City from October 9-11. I love and welcome the opportunity to meet new people, engage in conversations on the important work we are involved in and share how our office can be of assistance to you and your communities.

In November we will share two valuable resources: A Technical Assistance Guide and a Finance Resource Guide. Within both documents you will learn about funding opportunities by infrastructure sector and program type, providing essential details on eligibility criteria, award amounts, deadlines, and application processes. It is our hope this guide will provide a one-stop-shop for learning about grant opportunities across broadband, cybersecurity, energy, resilience, transportation, water, and community planning and development.

It's hard to believe we only have two months left in 2025! There is still so much work to be done, and we are looking forward to strategizing on how our office can have a meaningful impact in 2026. We want to remain visible across every district in Kansas, so if you have an upcoming meeting or conference you would like for us to present at, please let us know. A goal for the upcoming year is to increase our outreach at local events. As always, if you see any member of our team, please stop us and say hello. We want to meet you and understand how the Kansas Infrastructure Hub can partner with your community on its infrastructure needs.

– Shawn Wesner, Executive Director
