Kansas Infrastructure Hub Newsletter | February 2026

Post Date:02/27/2026

Message from the Director

February has continued the strong momentum that launched 2026 for the Kansas Infrastructure Hub. What we anticipated would be a shortened month has proven to be anything but slower. Our team has remained active across the state—meeting with local leaders, advancing project coordination efforts, and supporting communities as they move critical infrastructure initiatives from concept to construction.

This month has reinforced an important truth: infrastructure progress is not accidental. It is the result of disciplined planning, clear communication, and steady collaboration. We have continued to assist partners in strengthening grant applications, refining project scopes, identifying funding alignment opportunities, and accelerating timelines where possible. Every engagement is centered on improving delivery—ensuring projects are not only funded but equally as important, positioned for long-term impact.

As we travel Kansas, we are reminded that infrastructure looks different in every community. In some places, the priority is water system upgrades or broadband expansion. In others, it is transportation access, energy reliability, or resilience planning. While the projects vary, our commitment does not. We remain focused on outcomes that matter to Kansans: safe roads, reliable utilities, economic growth, and stronger communities.

February has also deepened our partnerships. Collaboration continues to be the foundation of meaningful infrastructure progress. By working alongside state agencies, local governments, regional organizations, tribal nations, and community leaders, we ensure efforts are aligned and resources are maximized. When coordination happens early and consistently, projects move faster, barriers are reduced, and public dollars go further.

As we look ahead to March and the months beyond, our focus remains clear—expand our reach, strengthen our support, and help communities turn opportunity into tangible results. If your organization has a project in development, a funding question, or an idea for collaboration, we encourage you to connect with us.

Together, we are building infrastructure that will serve Kansas not just today, but for generations to come.

– Shawn E. Wesner, Executive Director
