Kansas Infrastructure Hub Newsletter | April 2026

Post Date:05/12/2026 12:49 PM

Our recent Infrastructure Summit brought together an impressive cross-section of stakeholders from across Kansas, with strong participation at every level of government and throughout the public sector. The event created a valuable forum for collaboration, as communities from all regions contributed to structured input sessions focused on project readiness and regional coordination.

A consistent theme throughout the discussions was the challenge many communities face in advancing infrastructure projects—from early planning hurdles to navigating funding and implementation barriers. At the same time, there was clear alignment around the importance of state-supported tools in overcoming these obstacles. In particular, participants highlighted the critical role of the Infrastructure Hub and our Regional Development Organizations in providing technical assistance, fostering partnerships, and helping move projects from concept to completion.

The Summit underscored both the urgency of infrastructure needs across Kansas and the opportunity we have to strengthen coordination, build local capacity, and deliver impactful projects statewide.

I’m incredibly grateful to all of you who participated. I hope you enjoyed the day as much as I did. If you have feedback for us, please don’t be shy about sharing your thoughts.

– Shawn E. Wesner, Executive Director
